Bruker BioSpin Group, joins REIA, the Global Rare Earth Industry Association

Bruker is enabling scientists to make breakthrough discoveries and develop new applications that improve the quality of human life. Bruker’s high-performance scientific instruments and high-value analytical and diagnostic solutions empower scientists, researchers, and developers around the world to explore life and materials at molecular, cellular and microscopic levels. Applications of Bruker’s solutions include advances in green technology, such as battery research and development. The Bruker BioSpin Group as part of the Scientific Instrument Segment of Bruker Corporation is a world leader in the development and manufacture of instruments and connected software based on magnetic resonance technology.
Bernd Gleixner, EVP Operations for Bruker BioSpin Group, commented: “We are pleased to become part of the REIA community of like-minded professionals and look forward to forging new connections with our fellow members. Part of our portfolio of scientific instruments includes permanent magnets and is thus part of the ecosystem of downstream applications of rare earths, such as various life science applications, electromobility and renewable energy.
We recognize the implementation of ESG commitments in our raw material supply chains and the development of our permanent magnet value chain with a geographically and vertically diversified rare earth partner network as an important element of our strategy. We look forward to working with REIA and its members to strengthen our strategy to enable our customers to push the boundaries of scientific research.”
Dr Badrinath Veluri, President of REIA, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Bernd Gleixner and the team of Bruker BioSpin as a newest member of our organization. Together, we will be able to further develop the downstream application of rare earth in these areas. We look forward to working with them and aim to build a strong partnership.”

About REIA

REIA, a non-profit organization, is the only global association advocating the rare earth element (REE) Industry. Founded in 2019 and developing rapidly, REIA now counts around 50 members from around the world, representing key industry stakeholders throughout the whole rare earth value chain as well as policy makers, research institutes and academics.

Our core mission is to promote and support a sustainable, responsible, collaborative and transparent REE value chain and the use of rare earths in appropriate applications. To that effect, we are currently developing a framework and guidelines to help standardize ESG reporting accepted by all stakeholders, both upstream and downstream.
We provide our members with a platform where they can network and benchmark; make their voice heard by policy makers, regulators and key stakeholders; find potential partners; access and share data, information and best practices; get visibility and highlight their engagement towards a more sustainable supply chain.
